Born into a family of medical professionals, my career often comes across as a happy chance than a conscious choice. While not entirely untrue, I find assurance in the fact that my decision was rooted in my passion to serve the community rather than being on a conveyor belt to be a health professional. Joining a premier medical school provided me with more than just the education; it gave me my lifestyle. I learnt loyalty towards my friends and peers, compassion for all, and a sense of community second to none. I got the opportunity to travel around the world for conferences and workshops and add new skills to my repertoire. As an upcoming surgeon today, I strongly believe that while technical advancement is important it should be accompanied with efforts to make it affordable and accessible to the people who need it the most. While my career trajectory seems as linear as an ill-scripted Bollywood movie, the setbacks along the way made it deservingly eventful. Life has been a delicious cocktail of chaos and sanity; I enjoy a good Netflix binge just as much as traveling and exploring different cuisines to restore the latter.
